Pension after 40 years of work. We are gradually approaching the end of July, and from September 1, pensioners will start receiving their recalculated pensions. Daniel Baciu, the director of the National Pension House (CNPP), stated that the biggest increases will be for those with long years of work.
Concretely, Daniel Baciu explained that pensioners who have contributed more than 40 years will benefit from the most significant increases. “Retirees with low incomes but with a long contribution period of over 40 years,” he noted, according to Digi 24.
“In the case of a high contribution, with a contribution period of over 40 years, and the contribution to the system on the minimum wage in the economy, the increases will be considerable. They will even be able to reach a doubling, thanks to the stability points, which are the main novelty of the new pension law”, he added. Thus, these retirees can expect significant increases this fall.

The director of the National Pension House also pointed out that through these points of stability the aim is both to extend the active life of pensioners and to ensure a sustainable pension system.
Also, Daniel Baciu guaranteed that no income will decrease after the recalculation, as this is provided for in the law. He also emphasized the importance of professional history and level of contributions in the recalculation process.
“With these points of stability, we are trying to extend the active life of each pensioner, ensuring, at the same time, the sustainability of the pension system. Because those who remain in the workforce will have considerably higher pensions than those who choose to retire at the standard statutory age.
These stability points are awarded to people who contribute. In practice, we tried to strengthen this principle of contribution, which is the most important principle in the new pension law”, explained Daniel Baciu.
