- The Californian car manufacturer brings an interesting offer to its customers
- The so-called Energy Boost will extend the range of your car
- How does it all work and how much will you have to pay?
Tesla has prepared a truly exceptional offer for its car owners. It comes with a recent software update for the rear-wheel drive Model Y. The Californian automaker will now allow owners of the aforementioned electric car in the United States to purchase a package that will add extra range to the car. Customers have a choice of two variants. They will extend the range of their electric car from original 455 kilometers.
The first package is somewhat more modest. Thanks to it, the car gets an extra range 48 kilometers at a cost of $1,000. So in conversion for an amount of around 23 thousand crowns. The second option is to purchase a package that unlocks it 80 kilometers more. Tesla customers will then pay for it 1600 dollars (37 thousand crowns).
How does it work? By purchasing a package, the car’s control system will simply “reveal” a part of the battery that the car pretended not to exist until now. More than once, Tesla has been criticized for this practice. However, most customers do not mind this fact. When the opportunity arises, they are happy to pay for the bonus range. Finally, while the new packages for the rear-wheel drive Model Y are only available in the US at the moment, it has not been ruled out that they could also appear in the European market in the coming months.
Does a package with extra range sound like a good idea?
