What will happen to the millions of dollars raised for Biden’s campaign?

On June 20, when “Biden for President” filed his latest campaign report summarizing his finances through the end of May with the Federal Election Commission (FEC),

Biden’s campaign committee had $91.5 million in “cash on hand.”

The question arises as to what will happen to the money that donors, large and small, have offered to support Biden’s campaign.

Federal law does not require campaign committees to provide refunds to donors who want their contributions returned. It is entirely up to the “Biden for President” committee to provide refunds if donors request them — writes the American television news channel Fox News.

As they write, if Kamala Harris becomes the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, she will have access to campaign money, because when the “Biden for President” committee submitted its registration statement to the FEC, it registered itself as the “main campaign committee” of both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

At the same time, they add that if Kamala Harris is not the presidential candidate, then a new candidate will not have access to the funds, but they can be transferred to the Democratic Party.
