What will the entry level have in store for us?

If the Dacia Bigster has not yet revealed all its secrets to us (notably its price), we know a little more about the entry-level.

Unveiled almost a month ago and celebrated at the last Paris Motor Show, the Dacia Bigster greatly interested visitors and made a remarkable entry into the automobile world. In fact, it had been almost three years, since the revelation of the eponymous concept car, we have been waiting for it And even if for the moment, there are still points to be clarified, we already know roughly what the entry-level will have in store for us.

Outside, some changes

If the lines and overall exterior style hardly change compared to the Extreme and Journey versions that we saw at the Mondial or in the studio, there are still some options and specific features of these high-end versions that will not be available. on the entry-level “Essential”. The name is already official, and the nomenclature of finishes remains the same as for the Romanian manufacturer’s flagship SUV, the Duster (Essential/Expression/Journey/Extreme).
For example, the Dacia modular roof bars, standard on a Dacia Bigster Extreme, should not be available, even as an option, on the Essential. Instead, we find fixed longitudinal roof bars, nevertheless standard on the entry level.
As for the rims, they are 17-inch alloys. Compared to high finishes, they lose an inch. The Dacia Bigster Essential also loses the possibility of being equipped with the panoramic sunroof which is 120 cm long and opens to 35 cm.
For the rest, we do not yet have all the information, but there is no doubt that the Essential version will offer less body color, and a small list of additional equipment.

Inside, central screen on board but no modular bench seat!

The real advantage of the Dacia Bigster compared to the Duster is that it comes as standard, regardless of the trim level, a 10.1-inch central screen. It will therefore be present on the Essential version. On the other hand, the digital meter located in front of the driver changes size compared to Extreme and Journey. It goes from 10 inches on the high levels to 7 inches.
Otherwise, the Dacia Bigster Essential will not offer automatic air conditioning or an electric parking brake. The same goes for the mirrors, which will have to be folded down by hand. The front and rear windows are still electric.
But the big downside of this Essential version on board is that it does not seem to have the very practical 40/20/40 adjustable rear seat. You will probably have to settle for a 40/60 bench seat. Otherwise, the seats remain in fabric, but it will not be removable as easily as on Extreme, and the driver’s seat will not be semi-electrically adjustable as on Journey.
Finally, in terms of driving aids, the Bigster has all those made mandatory by the GSR2 standard, as well as a rear parking camera. And like most models from the Renault group, the entry-level SUV includes a small button called “My Safety” located to the left of the driver to easily deactivate them.

A Dacia Bigster Essential under €25,000

If the prices have not yet been officially communicated, Dacia promises us that its SUV will start in entry-level finish under €25,000, an unbeatable price for a vehicle of this size in the C segment. However, at this price, no new 155 hp hybrid engine. It is not certain that the Essential finish can be combined with this one. If we base ourselves on the Duster configurator, a Dacia Bigster in Essential finish will only offer one engine from the catalog, the ECO-G 140.
