What will the future Sava bridge look like: Six lanes, viewpoints and bike paths

Finance Minister Siniša Mali presented a visualization of the future bridge across the Sava on social networks. According to him, the construction will be completed by the end of 2026, and Serbia will get a bridge that will significantly improve traffic and the aesthetics of the capital.

The future bridge will have six traffic lanes – four for cars and two for tram traffic – while paths for pedestrians and cyclists will be built on both sides of the bridge. The length of the bridge will be 420 meters, while the width will reach 38 meters, i.e. 42 meters on the extensions planned for country houses.

Mali stated that it is expected that the new bridge will relieve traffic in key places in Belgrade. According to research data, the number of vehicles on the Branko Bridge could be reduced by 8%, on the Gazela by 5%, and on the Ada Bridge by 4%.

In addition to the construction of the bridge, Mali recalled the construction of a tunnel that will connect the Faculty of Economics with Despot Stefan Boulevard. This tunnel, the first to be built in Belgrade after more than 50 years, should reduce traffic concentration in the city center by as much as 17%, which will also contribute to less air pollution.
