The users of WhatsApp are about to receive a much-requested feature. Initially available to users betathe app is now making voicemail transcriptions available to everyone.
In a blog post, WhatsApp announced that it is finally implementing the transcriptions of voice messages on the stable channel. The feature will be available on both Android and iOS.
Just as it sounds, the feature can generate a written version of a voice message. A great option to have for those times when you can’t hear your voicemails. WhatsApp also adds that i messages remain encrypted end-to-end to keep messages private.
It looks like you will need to enable the feature in the settings, as it will be disabled by default. To enable it, simply enter “Settings”go to “Chat” and activate “Voice message transcriptions”. This very useful new feature will be rolled out globally in next weeks. Once available on your device, you can activate it by long-pressing the message and tapping “transcribe”.
