This new emoji should be sent as an answer in messages and can be used as a reaction to individual messages. For the latter, the app will integrate it directly into the reaction tray. There, users will find central emojis such as the Like Thumbs Up or the red heart.
While the new emoji will be made available in a future app update, WhatsApp is enormously optimizing its own range of functionality. Users can currently chat directly in the app with Microsoft’s Allround AI Copilot, use user names and manage contacts across all linked devices, as well as integrate likes (in the form of green hearts), mentions and music into the story-like status.
