A highlight for iOS users is the new widget, which makes it possible to display status updates directly from the home screen. This feature makes it easy to quickly see what your contacts are posting without having to open the app. The widget is currently only available in the beta version of WhatsApp – but you can see exactly what the update looks like in the WABetaInfo X post. According to the October 2024 changelog, this feature will be available in an upcoming update and will help users avoid having to repeat themselves as the AI remembers important details. This feature is ideal for making your chats more productive and planning easier. However, it is not available in the EU because Meta AI has not yet arrived here. In addition, there is a status reminder notification that informs you when important contacts post a status message. This feature is currently only temporarily available to Android beta testers.
5. Improved avatars

These Meta improvements are visible across platforms, including WhatsApp. Users report that the new avatars are more versatile and customizable. The feature has not yet been rolled out for everyone.
6. Camera effects toggle and status reminder notifications
WhatsApp has added a new setting called Camera Effects Toggle. You can enable or disable camera effects in privacy settings to customize photos and videos. This option is currently being rolled out worldwide.
