The website fru.pl published a report entitled: Holiday trends 2024in which he presents where and how often Poles travel. Flights from Poland can take us to many places around the world, but we have a group of favorite destinations that we use most often.
It is worth noting, however, that although the report in question concerns the holiday season, not all searches and flights themselves were related to holidays. Among the popular travel destinations, we can also find places that for many are associated with, among other things, a place of residence abroad, work or simply visiting family abroad.
The most popular destinations found via fru.pl are not surprising – they are mainly the same top ones that could be observed in previous years. Where do Poles fly? Here are our most frequently chosen places:
- Italy,
- Spain,
- Great Britain,
- France,
- Greece,
- Germany,
- Hungary,
- Poland,
- Netherlands,
- Norway
The characteristic of a Polish tourist is using proven and well-known places. We love flying to Rome, Alicante or Milan. This is helped by the extensive network of connections operated by low-cost airlines. Many of the most popular cities can be reached from at least several airports in Poland – the aforementioned capital of Italy is a perfect example.
It is also clear that the greatest appreciation is enjoyed by Western Europe, especially its southern variety. What motivates Poles to such expeditions? Mainly the weather. As we read in the report, as many as 41% of respondents admit that it is difficult to get the weather conditions right in Poland, which is not such a challenge in the summer in Spain or sunny Italy.

Our favorite destinations also include places not strictly connected to vacations. These include Great Britain, the Netherlands, and Norway. They are at least partly connected to economic emigration.
Most people do not decide to take a very long holiday abroad. Almost 60% of people admitted that they prefer trips for 4-8 days. Only in second place (27%) are those who fly out for 9-14 days, i.e. up to two weeks.
According to data from fru.pl, the average trip of a Pole lasts about 5 days. This fits perfectly into the idea of a city break, i.e. a short trip to a foreign city without thoroughly exploring the entire country.
