Where do Poles go on vacation? You can meet fellow countrymen there

We like holidays and vacations, and we often travel. The results of reports and studies leave no illusions, because more than half of us are planning a vacation, or have already taken one. Although the ways of spending free time from work are different, ultimately most of us have quite similar preferences.

Of course, it’s about sand, beach and water. It doesn’t matter whether in Poland or abroad – Poles like to relax by the water.. Among those planning a holiday in the country, the most, as many as 48%, choose the Baltic Sea coast – according to a report published on pollster.pl. We also like Masuria (12%) and the Kashubia region, where we can find lakes. In the summer, the mountains are less popular, but there are still lovers of hiking in the Bieszczady Mountains or the Tatras.

Vacations and holidays are not just about relaxing in your hometown. About 72% of holidaymakers decide to spend their holidays in Poland.while some also add a trip abroad. In total, over 30% of Poles will travel outside Poland. Where do we like to fly on vacation? Three countries in particular are Polish favorites. This is how the ranking looks like for this year:

  1. Türkiye (28% of respondents)
  2. Egypt (22%)
  3. Greece (20%)
  4. Croatia (17%)
  5. Italy (16%)
  6. Spain (16%)
  7. Tunisia (12%)

What attracts Poles to holidays in Turkey? The huge number of travel agency offers certainly helps. Flights are often offered from most airports in the country, and the trips themselves are not too expensive. A hotel with meals and flights can be found for just over 2 thousand zlotys. Greece and Egypt are also quite inexpensive destinations. In each of these places we will find brilliant weather all summer long, great food and clean water. What more could you want?

We certainly wouldn’t want the weather to get worse. And that’s exactly what most of the surveyed people are afraid of, as many as 42%. Weather problems concern especially those vacationers who spend their vacation in the country. The Baltic Sea can be different, the water is cold, and it can even rain on your head. However, these are not the only worries we have before leaving.

The problems also include illnesses and health complications of the respondents and their loved ones. In this case, we can safely talk about concerns related to traveling abroad. Different bacterial flora, not necessarily typical food for us – there are plenty of opportunities to catch bacteria or viruses.

Ultimately, it is clear that we are increasingly traveling abroad, and not only in Europe. More Poles are deciding to spend their vacations outside the continent, because we are not afraid of Thailand, the Dominican Republic or Mexico. A good 20 years ago, this would have been unthinkable, and travel to the other side of the ocean was reserved for the absolutely wealthiest. Today, it is also a considerable expense, but definitely more accessible. That’s pleasing.
