There are really many places we can visit during our vacation. After all, we have a choice of rest in Poland, as well as countless attractions and cities abroad. How to navigate all this? Well, a good method may be to use one of the many rankings. They suggest what direction to take for your vacation. An example of such a list is undoubtedly the ranking recently published by the magazine Time.
The editorial team has prepared a list Top 100 Places to Visit in 2024. The list is huge and offers places on almost every continent. There are breathtaking places in the US, South America, Asia and Europe. Heck, there’s even something to visit in Antarctica.
The full ranking can be found under the name THE WORLD’S GREATEST PLACES OF 2024. Among the most interesting places are:
- White Desert – Antarctica
- Red Hotel – Portugalia
- Strong Wind – Ecuador
- Formentera Dunes – Spain
- Cortina d’Ampezzo – Italy
- Natural Selection Guided Bike Safari – Botswana
- Mt Cook Lakeside Resort – New Zealand
The places chosen for the ranking were not there by accident. Besides, there are no obvious ones, such as the Colosseum or the Grand Canyon. So what was the decision to place the individual positions? As the editors explain, there are several factors and they result from current trends. One of the most important is social media. Platforms like TikTok and Instagram are having a major impact on our travel needs. More and more people are making travel decisions based on how a given place looked in a popular video. More and more often, these are less obvious places and slowly discovered gems.
There is also no shortage of places related to the way of rest. Many people (including Generation Z) choose active rest. This can be either an activity in an unusual place, or an unusual activity in a popular place. A perfect example is… bike safari in botswana. Such trips are usually associated with an off-road vehicle, but a bicycle seems to be a great alternative. Of course, then we will be watching dangerous kittens from a great distance.
But that’s not all. A growing trend is the so-called scientific tourism. As part of such a journey, we visit places where our main goal is to expand our knowledge. This is not just about a guided tour, but for example, a visit to a specific museum or meetings with witnesses to history. This allows us to better understand different areas of nature and places that have remained undiscovered for us so far.
Another increasingly popular option is a vacation… while working. However, this is not about volunteering, but rather a specific type of charity activity. Places that have suffered natural disasters (e.g. Maui Island) are opening up to tourists who want to help rebuild the landscape. Great natural circumstances, and in all this we, planting trees. It is useful, but also extremely interesting and unusual.
