Which LGUs received incentive funds for the preservation and protection of biological, landscape and geological diversity

The Ministry of Environmental Protection issued a Decision on the allocation of incentive funds based on the established list of evaluation and ranking of reported projects for the allocation of incentive funds for the preservation and protection of biological, regional and geological diversity in 2024.

As a reminder, in April of this year, a competition was published on the method of submitting requests for the allocation of incentive funds for the preservation and protection of biological, regional and geological diversity in 2024 in the amount of 100,000,000 dinars. The competition was submitted to local self-government units on the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

A total of 18 requests were submitted to the Ministry.

Incentive funds for these purposes are allocated to local self-government units on whose territory there is a national park or a protected area declared by an act of the Government.

Some of the local self-government units that received funds, out of a total of 14 listed in the document:

The Municipality of Irig for the National Park “Fruška Gora” has been allocated funds for the construction of a five-kilometer long and two-meter wide pedestrian path under the Vrdnička tower, as well as information boards and rest benches.

For the City of Kruševac for the Special Nature Reserve “Osredak”, funds have been allocated for landscaping the area around the Lokvanj pond.

The City of Užice received funds for the production of solar panels for the Šargan-Mokra Gora Nature Park, while the funds for the City of Pirot were earmarked for the Stara Planina Nature Park, for the improvement of lesser-known localities/destinations and beaches at the destination. Zavoj Lake.
