A man and a woman, suspects in the case of the body found in a suitcase in Pungesti, Vaslui, were caught by the police in Brasov, the Vaslui County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) informed.
“Under the coordination of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Vaslui Court and the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, with the support of the National Institute of Criminalistics, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the Directorate of Special Operations and the Braşov County Police Inspectorate, two persons, one a 32-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, both from Pungeşti commune, cohabitants, suspected of being involved in the death of a 36-year-old man from Onceşti commune, Bacău county”, a submitted IPJ.
The two people were evading criminal investigation activity, arrest warrants being issued in their names, the police say.
They are to be led and presented to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Vaslui Court for further investigations.
The investigators have drawn up a criminal file under the aspect of committing the crime of qualified murder and the investigations are continuing in order to establish the circumstances in which the 36-year-old victim died and the disposition of legal measures.
The body was found Monday evening on the side of a village road in Pungesti.
“A police patrol from Section 1 of the Vaslui Rural Police was alerted by phone by a man from the village/commune of Pungeşti, Vaslui county, regarding the fact that, in the vicinity of a rural road from Pungeşti, on the side of the road, there is a the suitcase inside which is the body of an unknown, male person,” said IPJ Vaslui.
