Where the match between Simona Halep and Yue Yuan can be seen on TV
Romanian tennis player Simona Halep, currently ranked 869th in the world, plays on Monday, October 27, in the first round of the WTA 250 tournament in Hong Kong. The opponent in the inaugural round is the Chinese athlete Yue Yuan (44 WTA), the sixth favorite of the competition.
In case of success, the Romanian will continue to play with the Japanese Nao Hibino (156 WTA) or the Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich (143 WTA). The match between Simona and the Asian athlete is the third on the Central Court, starts at approximately 1:00 p.m., and will be broadcast live by Digi Sport 2.
The two-time Grand Slam winner was accepted into the WTA 250 tournament in Hong Kong after receiving a wildcard from the organizers. Before the match with Yue Yuan, she said what she expected.
“It’s a real pleasure to be back in Hong Kong after 3 weeks. I enjoyed every moment last time and I will do the same now. There is quite a bit of moisture, as you can see.
I want to thank all the supporters from the previous tournament, because many came and made a great atmosphere. I look forward to them at this tournament as well.
I will be playing against a player from China, so I’m sure it will be a nice atmosphere. But the most important thing is to enjoy every moment I have here,” said Halep, for the page on the X platform of the tournament.
Simona Halep will play her fifth match since returning to the WTA circuit
It will be the first direct match between Simona Halep and Yue Yuan in the WTA circuit. The Chinese had an excellent start to the season, with the semi-final in Hobart, where she was defeated by the American Emma Navarro 4-6, 3-6, the trophy won in Austin (6-4, 7-6 / 4 with her compatriot Wang Xiyu) and quarters at Indian Wells (4-6, 3-6 with another player from the United States, Coco Gauff).
Since the start of the clay season, however, she has been unrecognizable. Since the end of April, she won two more matches at the same competition only in August, in Monterrey, when she defeated two players who, at the time, were not part of the WTA Top 100.
