FCSB’s boss made the bombshell revelation right after the match his team lost in Sibiu, against FC Hermannstadt, score 2-0.

FCSB lost to FC Hermannstadtin Sibiu, in the seventh stage of the new Romanian Superliga season. At the end of the game, Gigi Becali revealed who is actually to blame for why Florinel Coman was sold this summer in Qatar, at Al Gharafa. The owner of the Romanian champion made the bombshell revelation live on TV and claimed that he would not have wanted to give up the team’s most important player from last season.
At the same time, Gigi Becali mentioned that he was influenced by other people to make this decision, even if he was aware that Florinel Coman could continue to be the most important footballer in the team prepared by Elias Charalambous and Mihai Pintilii.
“If I had Coman… I didn’t give him away, I kept him. No, sir, because we are strong without him… One says so, another the other way around, another something else. I went after what they said, after what you said and…”, declared Gigi Becali, at Great sports.
FCSB are trying to reach the UEFA Europa League
FCSB won the title of champion of Romania after a nine-year wait, and Gigi Becali wanted his team to reach the UEFA Champions League. To his disappointment, this goal could not be achieved: the Romanian champion was eliminated in the third preliminary round, by Sparta Prague.
Thus, FCSB reached the play-offs of the UEFA Europa League, where they already played the round leg, in front of LASK Linz. The game that took place in Austria ended in a tie, score 1-1.
On Thursday, August 29, 2024, the return leg, decisive for qualifying for the UEFA Europa League, will be played in Bucharest.
