The Czech brand Pikle created the Menarche Set for girls during their first period. The package provides information about menstruation and all menstrual aids in an understandable form.
The period of the first menstruation means the transition to womanhood and a huge change in one’s own perception of oneself – but it also brings purely practical questions. Even today, it is not a matter of course that girls receive complete, unbiased information at home or at school, which would not be limited to a purely biological point of view.
The first menstruation also means a new phase in a woman’s life, her own concept of intimacy and sexuality, and a step on the way from childhood to womanhood. Menarche is a word of Greek origin and means first menstruation. “Let’s prepare girls for periods from all angles,” say the authors of Menarche Sets packed with information and gifts. It is also possible without unnecessary embarrassment and worries.
In a beautiful gift box, girls will find individually wrapped information cards that, among other things, briefly present every known menstrual aid: from conventional pads and tampons to lesser-known ones such as the menstrual sponge or the technique of free menstruation. Most of the packages contain samples from quality Czech manufacturers, which the girl can gradually try; or discounts on the purchase of menstrual aids.
Co-authors Sady Menarche are women’s experts who confirm that a healthy attitude towards menstruation has a huge impact on self-esteem, sexuality and femininity. The mission of the Menarche Kit is to equip girls with credible information about the female body and give them different options; each girl must first know herself and choose what is best for her.
“We want menstruation to be seen as a natural part of being a woman, so that parents can talk about it with their daughters without shame,” say the authors of Sada. The Menarche Set is the perfect gift for girls who are expecting or have recently had their first period. It can be purchased at the Pikle e-shop, now also in the Slovak version. On the Sada website, you will find a lot of information about Sada and an interesting blog, in which the authors and collaborators further elaborate on some related topics.
