The charming cycling route along the coast of the Baltic Sea is praised in the world. Even many Slovaks have no idea that such a thing is available in their neighbors.
British journalists from BBC discovered and melt over the Polish cycle route. We are talking about the seaside Velo Baltica in Western Pomerania, which is part of the international EuroVelo 10 route around the Baltic Sea.
A hidden gem
The route seems easy to them and they recommended it to everyone, even those who are not so physically fit or even families with children. One of the journalists, who had the opportunity to ride the section from Świnoujście to Mielno, described it literally as a “hidden gem” of cycling not only in Poland, but also from the point of view of the whole of Europe.
Even though this cycle route is well known to native Poles and especially to local fans of cycling, and it is probably the most famous cycle route in Poland, not only the British, but also many Slovaks do not know about it.
Thanks to the great conditions of the breathtaking location and the support of the European Union, the former cycle route R10 has been transformed into a modern EuroVelo 10 with a lot of rest stops, informational materials and a practical mobile application is also available.
240 great kilometers
The length of the entire Polish EuroVelo 10 from Świnoujście to Elbląg is approximately 540 kilometers, while the section through West Pomerania is approximately 240 kilometers long. The average cyclist can cover it in three to four days, provided that he also visits attractions and stops at interesting places along the way.
One of the key attractions of the route is the fact that it runs close to the Baltic beaches. In connection with forests, historical monuments and the availability of all kinds of services and conveniences, such as various accommodation options, a number of restaurants and bicycle repair shops, this makes it one big attraction.
The proximity of the railway stations is also a bonus. See a small taste of this cycle route in the attached gallery.
