Already during my studies, I realized that it is touchy work.
When I started doing it, I was surprised by the layers of the human soul.
In work, you start from the surface itself. There is the most visible, what the client is aware of.
After that, you slowly progress to deeper layers. On this journey, you come across places and landscapes that even the most vivid imagination cannot imagine.
You stop in some places, because they are darkened. It doesn’t look good. That’s why you slowly illuminate that place. Not too suddenly, because it’s not dimmed for no reason. Darkness is necessary because in it live unspeakable fears, unbearable shame, silent despair.
This can be too much, therefore gradualness is needed. And that’s why the therapist is there, so that the client is not alone in that place.
I have been in such places with many people. We would stand there, and feel that these are special, solemn moments.
I am grateful to my clients for having enough trust in me to take me on these trips.
