will the roads be blocked again?

Some farmers’ unions wish to organize blockade operations in the territory. Are we going to experience a paralysis of our roads once again? Answer here!

For some time now, in the general media, we have learned that several trade groups will organize strikes and blockades across France in the coming weeks.

Recently, we learned that farmers were going to organize rallies and blockade operations in the territory. Remember, less than a year ago, during last winter, French farmers were already out on the streets. We then experienced blockade operations on the roads and highways of France, thus paralyzing a large part of the network.

However, several voices are being raised to denounce the fact that the government’s promises made to farmers following their first mobilization have not been kept.

We should therefore know an act two of the mobilization of farmers. But what remains to be known now is the extent of this new agricultural mobilization? To get the answer, let’s look at what the unions have planned for the coming days.

What actions to plan?

We already have a schedule of actions that the various farmers’ unions will put in place.

The FNSEA (National Federation of Operators’ Unions) called last Wednesday for national mobilization starting this Monday, November 18 in order to attract the attention of public authorities. Arnaud Rousseau, president of the FNSEA, clarified that he would not target highways as was the case last winter, adding that the goal of this new mobilization was not to “starve” or “block ” France.

On the Rural Coordination side, the union is calling for an “agricultural revolt” starting Tuesday, November 19. Demonstrations should take place in front of prefectures. In La Dépêche du Midi, José Pérez, one of the co-presidents declares “We must take long-term action with total impact.”. These events will aim to “request a final burst from the government”according to the union.

Finally, the Young Farmers’ Union (JA) of Côte-d’Or announced that it wanted to organize panel covering operations from Sunday evening.

If these demonstrations produce nothing, certain unions indicate that they want to go further and stronger in the mobilization. To be continued…
