KB5046714, KB5046732 and KB5046740

Before the end of the month, Microsoft made a total of three new optional updates available for download, targeting different versions of Windows 10 and 11. We show the most important changes here.

After the regular patch day, another update cycle follows for Windows 10 and 11. There will also be new updates for Windows 10 22H2 (KB5046714) and Windows 11 in versions 22H2 and 23H2 (KB5046732) and 24H2 (KB5046740) in November. We show the most important innovations of the new Windows updates in November in the following overview.

Windows 11 22H2/23H2: KB5046732-Patch

The 22H2 and 23H2 versions of Windows 11 naturally receive a major patch. The KB5046732 update brings innovations to the start menu, which are reflected in a revised context menu for pinned apps. In addition, the file explorer has been adapted and now allows files to be shared directly with a linked Android device. In addition, some bugs with audio devices that occurred with Bluetooth 5.4 (LE) are said to have been fixed.

Windows 11 24H2: KB5046740-Patch

Windows 11 24H2 is receiving an even more extensive update. In addition to the two new features mentioned for the start menu and the file explorer, the task manager, among other things, is being expanded with a dark mode. A new keyboard shortcut has also been added: Using (Ctrl) + (Shift), applications can be started as an administrator from the start menu.

Windows 10 22H2: KB5046714-Patch

As usual, Windows 10 only receives bug and security improvements. Among other things, the bug fixes include an annoying bug in the activation process that can appear after replacing the mainboard.

The KB5046714-Patch brings Windows 10 22H2 to build number 19045.5198 after installation. Windows 11 comes with KB5046732 for 22H2/23H2 brought to build versions 22621.4541 and 23621.4541. The new build number for Windows 11 24H2 is after KB5046740-Patch whereas 26100.2454. The download itself is carried out as usual using the Microsoft update function; Microsoft publishes the complete release notes in the associated blog post. If the download does not work in the usual way, you can KB5046714, KB5046732 and KB5046740 also download via Microsoft Update Catalog.
