Every month, in addition to the regular Patch Tuesday, Microsoft also introduces an optional update for its operating systems. In October, Windows 11 24H2 will receive the KB5044384 patch, which will be available for installation and will contain some bug fixes. The display bug, according to which the update cache contains around 8.63 GB of non-deletable data, should no longer appear. In addition, problems with the user interface that can occur with “certain apps,” as the developers explain, will be fixed.

As in the Windows update for the 22H2/23H2 versions, there are also new features that are gradually coming to users of Windows 11 24H2. These include, among other things, a new design for logging into Wi-Fi networks, a new virtual Xbox gamepad and a new keyboard shortcut for the “Windows Narrator”.

The KB5044384 patch brings Windows 10 to build number 26100.2161 after installation. As the developers also explain, Windows Update itself will be faster in upcoming updates.
