Microsoft’s new update makes the connection between PC and smartphone easier.
For Windows Insider members, Microsoft has started to introduce the new Windows 11 function, thanks to which they can access the contents of their Android smartphones easier and faster than ever before through the file manager. According to the company, with this new solution, you can browse all folders and files wirelessly.
The function allows you to copy and open mobile content to a computer, as well as move, rename, move and delete PC files to the phone. However, there are some conditions that must be met for the process to work.
According to Microsoft, this new file management option requires at least Android 11 or newer mobile operating system on mobile and of course Windows 11 PC, the Link to Windows application is essential, Windows 11 settings must enable the computer to connect to the Android smartphone , and for the time being you have to register for the Windows Insider Program, which you can leave after the end of the testing.
If everything is successful, the smartphone running a compatible operating system will appear in Windows 11 as a USB drive, and it will also behave as if the above-mentioned operations can be performed smoothly with it.
Microsoft has drawn attention to it on his blog, that there are some known problems that may still occur: when deleting phone files on a computer, for example, the removed stuff stays in the trash for only 5 days instead of 30 days. Also, deleted files in your phone’s trash folder may not show up in your PC’s file manager, as well as syncing issues. All of them will be fixed in an update that is already in the works.
