Windows 11 without updates and Microsoft has no solution

When Microsoft released the 24H2 Windows 11 update, it did not expect it to have so many problems. This one was away from many PCs for several weeks due to incompatibility. Now, and again in this version, a problem arises and Windows 11 has stopped receiving updates and Microsoft has no solution.

Windows 11 stopped receiving updates

Microsoft had no choice but to confirm the existence of yet another problem. It is so serious that it is warning users who install Windows 11 via USB or CD. In such cases, these users may be left without operating system updates.

Specifically, this strange issue affects Windows 11 24H2 installations using physical drives such as CD disks and USB sticks. This is a very common method for installing or reinstalling Windows on a computer. In fact, Microsoft itself offers the necessary disk images to carry out these installations, directly from its website.

Unfortunately, the Windows 11 24H2 installation process presents a problem that causes conflict with Windows Update, the service dedicated to downloading and installing updates. This is particularly serious because Windows Update is responsible for security updates. Affected users are open to all types of attacks based on bugs discovered from now on.

Microsoft no solution to 24H2 problem

The most frustrating and ironic part of this issue is that since Windows Update does not work, affected users will not be able to receive the update that fixes it. Therefore, users who installed Windows 11 24H2 are stuck with a system that will never be updated and that, over time, will become increasingly insecure.

According to Microsoft, the problem affects installation media created with programs such as the aforementioned Rufus. It also claims that media created with its own tool, the Media Creation Tool, was not affected. Likewise, users who simply upgraded to Windows 11 24H2 via Windows Update also have nothing to fear.

At this time, Microsoft does not have any solutions for affected users. The company says it is working on a solution, although it cannot provide further details until January, when its engineers return to work. Now, the only alternative users have is to reinstall Windows 11 24H2, this time using the Media Creation Tool.
