Wine Vision by Open Balkan: wines for everyone!

The third international wine, food and tourism fair “Wine Vision of the Open Balkans” will be held at the Belgrade Fair from today, November 22, until November 24. The event is expected to gather more than 650 exhibitors from 38 countries. The event in question is organized, as it is every year, by the Government of Serbia.

“Wine vision” positions Belgrade as the capital of wine and gastronomy in the European and world context. Participants come from different parts of the world, including the USA, France, Australia, South Africa, Mexico and Lebanon, while the central place will be occupied by the joint stand of the national tourism organizations of Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania.

One of the key events is the “Open Balkans Wine Trophy” competition, where 25 eminent wine judges, led by expert Caroline Gilby MW, will evaluate over 900 wines from Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania. The best samples will be awarded with medals and cups. There will also be lectures and workshops dedicated to autochthonous wine varieties, the great terroirs of the Balkans and marketing strategies in the wine business. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about globally famous wine regions such as France, Italy and California.

Wines there, wines there, and food in between

In parallel with the wine fair, the event “Food Vision of the Open Balkans” will be held, where the leaders of the food industry and culinary arts will gather. Visitors will be able to attend competitions of young chefs, workshops and lectures led by experts in gastronomy. “Gastro Theater” will host the best restaurants and hotels from the region, which will offer special menus with carefully selected wines, while a digital platform for scheduling business meetings will enable connection with distributors from over 48 countries.

The goal of this year’s manifestation is the promotion of sustainability, cultural heritage and modern gastronomic trends. The program includes master class sessions, motivational lectures and numerous educational activities, and all information about the event is available on the official website of the event. The price of a daily ticket is 1,000 dinars, while group and family tickets are cheaper. The first day of the fair is intended for the media and professional visitors, while the next two days will be open to the public.

This year’s Wine Vision of the Open Balkans includes halls 1, 1A, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Belgrade Fair. In this way, it provides space for a combination of tradition, innovation and international cooperation. This event not only promotes regional products, but also the potential of Serbia as an important destination on the global wine and gastronomy scene.
