Unfortunately, PCOS makes the lives of countless women miserable, and it doesn’t help that the “treatment” is often only recommended with contraceptives, which, although they eliminate the symptoms, do not solve the problem. And according to research, depression is often associated with PCOS, even though this disease can be cured and reversed!

On the topic dr. Géza Angyal, obstetrician-gynecologist, specialist of the Trimester Fertility Clinic is there to help us.

PCOS

Unfortunately, polycystic ovary syndrome does not need to be presented to many, the problem affects many women. In this case, the mature follicles in the ovaries are not able to rupture, and ovulation and even menstruation are disturbed because of this.

Accompanying symptoms of PCOS include obesity, increased hair growth, acne-prone skin and, of course, infertility. In addition to these, IR (insulin resistance) is a characteristic accompanying disease of PCOS, which unfortunately can easily turn into diabetes with obesity.

PCOS and depression

Columbia University research has also shown that women with PCOS have a higher rate of depression. The ladies do not necessarily encounter the severe version of this, but unfortunately it is a fact that the symptoms accompanying PCOS can easily damage self-esteem, she says dr. Angel Géza an expert at the Trimester Fertility Clinic.

The inability to gain weight or lose weight, the many unsuccessful attempts, is frustrating in itself, and then there are the pimples, which appear even when we try to protect ourselves against them with the most expensive creams, not to mention the increased hair growth that often appears on the face as well. Together, these can significantly damage women’s mental health, even though PCOS is a curable and reversible disease.

Lifestyle and nutrients!

In many cases, drug treatment may also be necessary, which can be initiated by a specialist, but it is worth knowing that PCOS responds extremely well to lifestyle changes. In other words, the disease can be treated very well with regular exercise and a balanced diet. However, this also includes replenishing the nutrient stores depleted during PCOS, as some of its consequences, such as infertility, can only be reversed in this way.

However, replenishing the nutrient stores is no longer such an easy task, because often even a healthy lifestyle is not enough. The reason for this is that the content of our food has decreased drastically in the last few 10 years. A good vitamin preparation, in which as many substances as possible must be present in organic form, can be a great tool for nutrient supplementation. The reason for this is that the utilization of materials is up to 80% better! In addition, it is important to consider complexity and to determine for whom the nutritional supplement is intended. Men’s bodies need something different, women’s needs something different, and of course pregnant women need something else, keeping in mind the different needs of each trimester!
