ARD has shared a preview of the upcoming 2024/25 winter sports season. Transmissions run both linearly and in the network.

The starting signal for winter sports will be given on ARD on November 22nd. On a total of 44 broadcast days and in over 200 broadcast hours on linear television, Erste will report live, time-delayed, summaries and highlights of the competitions in the various sports. In addition, the ARD announces for the Media library more than 150 live streams, around 70 of which are web exclusive, which those interested can access between November and March. This offer will be implemented with the help of the multistream player that was developed by ARD for the 2024 Olympic Games, explains ARD in its program announcement.

There is also talk of further features from the “Sportschau” editorial team for the digital distribution channels. These include the winter sports podcast, TikTok formats and a winter sports calendar for alpine skiing, biathlon and ski jumping. ARD also wants to accompany the live broadcast with selected documentaries. From December 7th, the ARD media library will be showing the film “Tunnelblick – The Duel Lochner against Friedrich”, which is intended to take a look behind the scenes of bobsleigh sport. On January 1st, “Highs & Crashes – Ski Jumper Andreas Wellinger” will be published about the 2018 Olympic champion of the same name to highlight two examples.
