The “sportstudio live” starts the winter sports season on ZDF. These broadcasts run on weekends.
ZDF will broadcast the winter sports world cups in biathlon, ski jumping, Nordic combined, cross-country skiing, tobogganing and alpine skiing in “sportstudio live” on November 30th from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on December 1st from 11:50 a.m. to 6:55 p.m. The station broadcast the Nordic combined at the World Cup in Ruka at midday and early afternoon on Friday.
For all alpine ski fans, ZDF will broadcast the women’s giant slalom in Killington in an online live stream on Saturday from 4 p.m. The second run follows at 7 p.m. On Sunday the slalom competition also runs at the times mentioned. A summary will also be shown in the linear “sportstudio live” segment on ZDF.
ZDF will broadcast winter sports until mid-March
As ZDF announced, Katrin Müller-Hohenstein and Katja Streso will be taking turns hosting winter sports broadcasts on the weekends this season. Katja Streso takes over the job on the first weekend. On December 14th and 15th, Katrin Müller-Hohenstein will moderate the winter sports broadcasts.
The “sportstudio live” will broadcast competitions from the world of winter sports on eight additional weekends until mid-March 2025. Accompanying content can be found in additional live streams sportstudio.de and in the ZDF media libraryas the station advertises. Fans of the Four Hills Tournament can look forward to the broadcast of the first competition from Oberstdorf on December 29th. ZDF will also show the fourth, final competition on January 6th from Bischofshofen. For the remaining dates, the first one appears on public television.
ARD and ZDF will be broadcasting around 400 hours of live broadcasts this winter sports season, as DIGITAL FERNSEHEN previously reported. There are some new faces and voices in front of and behind the cameras. For example, former biathlete Denise Herrmann-Wick is a new expert on ZDF. On the opening weekend, she classifies the sporting events together with Laura Dahlmeier and presenter Alexander Ruda. In addition to ARD and ZDF, Eurosport and Discovery+ broadcast various winter sports competitions from 25 disciplines, as DIGITAL FERNSEHEN reported.
