With the help of eDocuments, you can verify yourself almost everywhere starting in the new year. They are now accepted by public authorities and private individuals

The electronic ID card available through the eDoklady application gets a new use starting in the new year. Newly, from 1 January 2025, it must be accepted by the remaining public authorities and private persons, outside of the already established places, to which the obligation did not apply for the time being.

You can now verify yourself as a citizen on your mobile at district election commissions, schools, health insurance companies, banks, notaries and executors, at the post office, embassies, welfare organizations or all state enterprises.

You can find an overview of all places where you can verify yourself using your ID card on your mobile phone eDoklady official website.

More than 577,000 residents have downloaded the application since it was launched at the beginning of January last year. It is important not to confuse eDocuments with eCitizenship, which is used for logging in to online services and requires a physical reader to read it. In the future, we also expect a unified digital identity that should be recognized throughout the European Union. However, its implementation in practice will still take some time.
