Wiyaala, which means “doer” in the Sisali language, originates from Funsi in the upper west of Ghana. She has performed for dignitaries and many African presidents, as well as at prestigious events including WOMAD UK, African Games, Commonwealth Games, Summer Stage in New York and numerous international festivals.
Wiyaala has released three albums, “Wiyaala” (2014), “Sissala Goddess” (2018) and “African Polyglot” 2024, the latter of which is under consideration for a nomination at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
