Woori Bank, the first in the financial sector to introduce a ‘non-face-to-face authenticity verification service for national veterans’ registration certificates’ < Economy/Finance < Article text

Woori Bank (CEO Cho Byeong-gyu) announced on the 23rd that it has introduced a ‘non-face-to-face authenticity verification service for national veterans registration certificates.’

In May, Woori Bank signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute for the ‘Utilization of National Veterans Registration Certificates in Financial Transactions’ and decided to actively utilize the National Veterans Registration Certificate, which integrates 15 existing national merit certificates into one, for non-face-to-face financial transactions.

For the first time in the financial sector, you can open an account and sign up for mobile banking at WooriWON Banking with your National Veterans Registration Card, just like you would with a resident registration card or driver’s license, after going through a non-face-to-face verification process. To prevent financial accidents for users, we have applied ID forgery detection and facial recognition technology.

Non-face-to-face authenticity verification can be done by going through the following steps when selecting a financial service such as signing up for a product at WooriWON Banking: ▷ Mobile phone number verification ▷ National Veterans Registration Card photo verification.

With the introduction of the ‘Non-face-to-face Authenticity Verification Service for National Veterans Registration Cards’, the text and photo information on ID cards can be compared with the information registered with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to △block forged ID cards, △prevent financial crimes, and △allow the ID card to be used as an identification card.

A Woori Bank official said, “We have introduced a service to verify the authenticity of national veterans’ registration certificates in order to treat national veterans with respect,” and added, “We will continue to make efforts to provide trustworthy financial services for the convenient financial transactions of national veterans and to fulfill our social responsibility.”
