Work and tax relief for foreigners who will establish a startup

The Turkey Tech Visa program, a visa program that will make it easier for foreign entrepreneurs to establish early-stage companies in Turkey, has been launched. Within the scope of the Turkey TechVisa program prepared by the Ministry of Industry with the support of the Ministry of Labor, entrepreneurs and expert employees will be granted a three-year work permit if companies operating in certain high-value-added areas are established in Turkey. With the program, companies to be established in technoparks or incubation centers will be exempt from corporate tax and their employees from income tax, and bureaucratic processes will be accelerated. The program aims to make the domestic entrepreneurship ecosystem more attractive for early-stage and scale-up companies.

“They will feel at home”

Speaking at the Turkey Tech Visa Program Introduction Ceremony, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır said that the Turkey Tech Visa Program is a comprehensive and advantageous program that aims to build a strong future in Turkey for individuals and innovative entrepreneurs who are experts in the field of technology. Kacır said, “We are also cooperating with many national and international stakeholders in terms of the implementation of the program.” Stating that they have taken an important step that increases the value proposition of the country for investors, entrepreneurs and technology leaders with the program, Kacır said, “With the 3-year special work permit we grant to the participants, we accelerate their living and working processes in Turkey, allowing the program participants to make long-term plans in our country and establish a settled life and feel at home.”

“A milestone on the way to becoming a technology center”

Kacır, who stated that they will provide legal, financial and technical consultancy services to the companies that entrepreneurs who will be accepted to the program will establish in Turkey for 6 months, said, “We will also guide entrepreneurs who come to our country from abroad to effectively benefit from comprehensive public incentive and support programs. We will accelerate the integration and adaptation of the participants to our country’s ever-growing technology ecosystem.”

Pointing out that the Turkey Tech Visa Program is a milestone in the country becoming a global technology center, Kacır said, “In this process, we will continue to progress towards becoming a world-class technology center with the advantages we offer to international technology talents and companies.”
