The Ergo Desk is a desk that allows you to work while sitting or standing, but also leaning back. In the lying position, the desk tilts up at the back, so that you can continue to see the monitor. According to the creator, this pose can help relieve back pain.
In addition to desks where you sit or stand, there is now a third option: a desk where you almost lie. The Ergo Desk can relieve chronic back pain, claims Canadian creator Mitch Kahn. He came up with the idea for the Ergo Desk after suffering a hernia, which caused him chronic back pain. The only position he felt comfortable in was leaning back. But then it is difficult to reach the keyboard and you usually cannot see the screen properly.
Kahn therefore developed an agency that would meet his needs. He worked on a prototype for months and the result is the Ergo Desk. He say This allows you to work or play comfortably, without back problems. Whether this is also the case with others remains to be seen.
Can handle two monitors
The Ergo Desk can not only switch between normal sitting and standing positions, but can also raise the surface up to a 45-degree angle. A shelf ensures that your keyboard and mouse remain on the desk. A section on the right side does not tilt, so you can place a cup of coffee or tea there, for example.
A double monitor arm is an integral part of the desk. The monitor holder can hold up to about 18 kilograms, which, according to Kahn, is enough for two 32-inch screens. The desk measures 122 by 76 cm and can be adjusted in height between 76 and 123 cm.
Coming soon to Kickstarter
The Ergo Desk is not currently available for purchase, but the product will be launched via Kickstarter in February. The desk costs $449 and comes in black, white and wood tones. Nothing is known yet about the release date and shipping costs.
