The deal involves the release of Israeli hostages in several stages. According to WSJ interlocutors, the parties are finalizing the final agreement on the terms of the deal. Israel and Hamas have already agreed on the main points of the deal, but are still working out some details.

However, the newspaper’s sources admit that the negotiations may break down, as has happened before.
