X.com will suspend five million users by 2024

X.com suspended five million users in the first six months of this year due to unacceptable behavior, according to the recently published transparency report.

The first transparency report published since the takeover by Elon Musk shows that the platform hears complaints from users, but responds little.

In the months to July 2024, the company received 244 million notifications about accounts and messages. Of these, ten million posts were deleted or tagged and five million accounts were suspended. Six percent of reports lead to action, 94 percent do not.

The message:

Actions:

Except for spam, most reports are handled manually.

Only 0.0123 percent of all posts violated any of the platform rules, the report said.

Companies such as TikTok, Twitch, Google, Meta and Microsoft also recently published their transparency reports, collected here https://disinfocode.eu/reports-archive/?years=2024.
