X rolls out new blocking feature

X will be rolling in the near future new blocking function off, allowing people to view public posts even if they are blocked. Not all users are happy with that.

Until recently, blocked accounts could not access messages from those they blocked. They also couldn’t respond there or send the account owner a private message. The latter remains the case, but the messages remain visible.

Blocked accounts also cannot repost and comment on posts unless they take a screenshot.

The measure may lead to a growth in private accounts, which are only accessible to selected users.
