‘Xiaomi 15 Pro seen in renders’

Xiaomi is working on a successor to the Xiaomi 14 Pro, which will probably be released in China this month. The website Smartprix has already published renders of the Xiaomi 15 Pro, giving us a good idea of the device.

The smartphone looks very similar to its predecessor, with a square camera island in the corner. Inside we find three lenses and a new laser for fast autofocus. The Flash moves to a spot just outside the island. Xiaomi releases the 15 Pro in three colors: black, white and silver. The back is made of glass, although a special edition with a titanium casing is also expected to be released.

The renders of the Xiaomi 15 Pro do not yet show the front. According to rumors, the device will have a 6.78-inch OLED screen that is slightly curved on four sides. We already saw this on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The refresh rate is of course 120Hz, so you can enjoy smooth images.

The other specifications are also high-end. The smartphone runs on a lightning-fast Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, in combination with up to 16GB of RAM and 1 terabyte of storage. The battery is gigantic at 6000 mAh. You can also charge it very quickly, both wired (90 watts) and wirelessly (80 watts).

The three cameras on the rear all have a resolution of 50 megapixels. In addition to the main camera, there is a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens with which you can zoom in 5x. The latter also serves as a macro camera close-ups.

Release in the Netherlands uncertain

As mentioned, Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 15 and this Xiaomi 15 Pro this month in its home country China. The absolute top model, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, will probably follow at a later date.

It is not certain whether the Xiaomi 15 Pro will come to the Netherlands. This year, the company only released the regular Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra here. The 14 Pro was left behind in China. If the Xiaomi 15 Pro does make the crossing to Europe, this will probably not happen until early 2025.
