Xiaomi has launched the Buds 5 TWS earphones alongside its new foldable phones, smartwatch and smartphone. These earphones should not be confused with the Redmi Buds 5 available in international markets. The Xiaomi Buds 5 is the successor to the Buds 4, which was released in 2022. Xiaomi Buds 5 features a dual-tone design with a glossy finish and matte-textured earbuds. This design gives the earphones a premium look and feel. Weighing just 4.2 grams, the TWS earphones are specially designed to fit comfortably in the curve of the human ear. The earphones are also dust and water resistant with IP54 certification. The Buds 5 feature smart touch controls to perform various functions. They can also create content summaries with a single click.
As for the audio performance, the Xiaomi Buds 5 is equipped with 11mm drivers. It has active noise cancellation to filter out external noise. Three microphones are built into each earbud and the AI-powered noise cancellation feature ensures crystal clear sound quality during calls. The earbuds offer original quality sound experience without any compression with Qualcomm aptX Lossless technology. Xiaomi has also collaborated with Harman’s Golden Ear Team for a variety of customized sound effects. The earbuds also offer spatial sound experience and support Dolby Atmos when connected to a compatible Xiaomi phone.
Xiaomi Buds 5 is powered by a 480mAh battery, with a 35mAh battery in each earbud. The earbuds are said to last 6.5 hours on a single charge and up to 39 hours with the charging case. The TWS earbuds can be quickly paired once the charging case is opened and can be connected to two devices at the same time. The Xiaomi Buds 5 are priced at CNY 699 (approximately $97). The earphones will be available in Moon Shadow Black, Snow Mountain White, and Titanium Gold.
