Xiaomi is rolling! It introduced beasts with giant batteries, the prices will make your jaw drop

  • Xiaomi introduced Redmi K80 and K80 Pro, which will head to Europe as POCO F7 Pro and F7 Ultra
  • Both models will offer excellent equipment, including a QHD+ display and an extremely large battery
  • Top performance is also a matter of course, the TOP model will offer the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite

Today in China, Xiaomi presented a pair of new flagship models under the leadership of Redmi Redmi K80 a Redmi K80 Pro. While the basic model relies on last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the top variant received the brand new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This pair should arrive in Europe as POCO F7 Pro a POCO F7 Ultra.

The two phones are primarily connected by top quality 6.67″ AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution (2,400 × 1,080 px) and 120Hz refresh rate. The panel boasts a maximum brightness of up to 3,200 rivetsHDR10+ and Dolby Vision support and newly used materials to ensure better energy efficiency. Under the display we find an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. Compared to the optical one, it offers higher accuracy and will not have such a problem with scanning dirty or wet fingers.

Giant batteries as the main attraction

This time, Xiaomi went all out with the battery capacity – it even offers the basic K80 6 550 mAhwhile the Pro version has to settle for “just” 6 000 mAh. This is a very high value in both cases. The K80 Pro supports 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, while the basic model handles 90W wired charging. According to the manufacturer, the battery life should be up to 1,600 charging cycles.

Camera from Xiaomi Mix Flip

The main camera is used in both models 50 Mpx sensor OmniVision OVX8000 (1/1.55″) with optical stabilization and f/1.6 aperture. We can also know it under the name Light Hunter 800 and, in addition to the Mix Flip, the manufacturer also uses it in the POCO F6 Pro. It supports video recording in 4K at 60 fps or even 8K, but only at 24 fps. K80 Pro adds 32 Mpx ultra-wide-angle sensor with an angle of engagement of 120° and 50Mpx telephoto lens Samsung JN5 with 2.5x optical zoom. The basic model has to make do with an 8MP wide-angle camera. The selfie camera has a resolution of 20 Mpx in both cases.

Top connectivity and cooling

For efficient cooling of powerful chipsets, Xiaomi has developed a special system with a double steam chamber. This should help keep temperatures under control even during demanding gaming. IP68 certification is a matter of course, in terms of connectivity, both models offer 5G, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth support – the basic model version 5.4, the Pro variant received the latest Bluetooth 6.0. A better signal is ensured by the T1S chip, which strengthens not only Bluetooth, but also 5G and Wi-Fi connections.
