Xiaomi Mix Flip seen in renders: flip device with large battery

Renders and specifications have surfaced of the Xiaomi Mix Flip. That is the first flip device of the Chinese manufacturer. Especially the large battery is striking.

Xiaomi is one of the last major smartphone manufacturers that does not yet sell a flip device. That will change on July 19. The company’s director, Lei Junhas already released official renders of the Xiaomi Mix Flip on X. This phone should compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Motorola Razr 50 Ultra.

Thanks to the large cover screen, which fills half of the exterior, the Mix Flip is particularly reminiscent of the aforementioned Motorola. In the Z Flip 6, this display is a lot smaller. You can choose from the colours black, white and purple. There also seems to be a version with multiple shades of purple.

Xiaomi has already confirmed that the Mix Flip will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. That is the fastest processor at the moment. The website GizmoChina managed to get his hands on some other specifications. For example, you can choose from variants with 12 or 16GB of RAM and there is a maximum of 1 terabyte of storage available.

The large 4780 mAh battery is striking. Flip phones often have a smaller battery. The Flip 6, for example, does not go beyond 4000 mAh. The same applies to the Razr 50 Ultra. The Xiaomi Mix Flip could therefore have a significantly better battery life. The device also charges very quickly with 67 watts.

We don’t yet know exactly how big the screens of the Mix Flip are. We do assume that Xiaomi will opt for OLED displays with a high resolution and brightness. Lei Jun promises that the screen on the outside is of ‘flagship quality’. You may also be able to use all apps on this smaller display. That is not possible as standard with the Flip 6 from Samsung.

We also see two lenses on the outside. Presumably it is a main camera and a wide-angle lens. A camera to zoom in with seems to be missing.
