Xiaomi Mix Flip vs Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 vs Razr 50 Ultra

How does the newly announced Xiaomi Mix Flip compare to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6? And the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra? In this article, we list the most important differences between these three flip phones.

Xiaomi Mix Flip vs Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6

The market for flip phones is slowly getting more crowded. Where Samsung more or less had the empire to itself for years, the Korean company now has formidable competition from Motorola and Xiaomi. The three smartphones that these manufacturers presented in recent months are very close to each other.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 from Samsung and the Razr 50 Ultra from Motorola can already be found in Dutch stores. Whether the Xiaomi Mix Flip also makes the crossing, we will have to wait and see. Still, it is fun to look at the most important similarities and differences. In the table below you can see the most important specifications of the Xiaomi Mix Flip vs the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra. Then we will briefly discuss them.

Xiaomi has the largest battery

What is immediately noticeable is that Xiaomi has put a much larger battery in its Mix Flip than Samsung and Motorola. The difference is almost 20 percent. Although we have not tested this smartphone yet, the battery life will probably be noticeably better than that of the competitors. The Xiaomi Mix Flip also charges faster with 67 watts than the Razr 50 Ultra (45 watts) and certainly than the Z Flip 6 (25 watts).

In terms of hardware, the differences are relatively small. The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra has a slightly slower Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, but you won’t notice much of that in practice. All three offer 12GB of RAM, so you can multitask smoothly.

Samsung has the smallest screens

Where the Mix Flip and Razr 50 Ultra have a 4-inch screen on the outside, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 makes do with a smaller 3.4-inch display. The screen also does not, like its two competitors, wrap around the cameras. That looks a bit more old-fashioned. The options at Samsung are also more limited: you cannot simply use every app on this second screen.

Speaking of cameras, all three have two on the back. Samsung opts for a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens for wider shots in addition to the 50-megapixel main camera. Motorola and Xiaomi both have two 50-megapixel cameras, including a telephoto lens. However, that only brings the image 2x closer. What you prefer is of course very personal.

Also on the inside, Samsung has the smallest screen: 6.7 inches. The Xiaomi is slightly larger with 6.86 inches, while Motorola opted for the largest display: 6.9 inches. The other specifications are comparable. These are beautiful OLED screens with high brightness and a corresponding refresh rate.

Xiaomi Mix Flip is the most expensive

Since the Xiaomi Mix Flip has already been announced for the Bulgarian market, we know what it will cost there: 1300 euros. In the event of a Dutch release, we expect about the same price.

This makes the Xiaomi the most expensive of the bunch. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 has a suggested retail price of 1199 euros, just like the Razr 50 Ultra. The prices will of course drop over time, which could cause them to move (even closer) together.
