- The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is still one of the most affordable mid-range Androids to date
- Its successor has already debuted in China, and if it is to please me, it needs to improve in two ways
- I would like a better optimized superstructure and longer battery life. I’ll probably make it
This spring, I had the opportunity to test the phones of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 series and compare them with the relevant competition. I used the top model for the longest time Redmi Note 13 Pro+which was first challenged in the test by the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G and then by the slightly more expensive Realme 12 Pro+.
I have always considered the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ to be incredibly affordable phone and today it applies twice as well, since its price has decreased significantly. Currently, the cheapest offer varies slightly over 7,000 crownswhich is a fabulous price compared to the introductory price of CZK 10,999. However, both mentioned competitors surpassed it in two very fundamental aspects. Will his successor change that?
What does the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ have to change?
The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ has arrived in the Chinese market and it looks really promising, even for us it arrives with slightly worse equipment (specifically, it says it won’t bring a telephoto lens, which is a real shame). It has improved both durability and performance, and as you would expect, it also offers a higher maximum brightness value. All of these upgrades are nice, but compared to the system and battery life, I don’t think they’re very important.
Superstructure optimization
Xiaomi HyperOS sat me down in terms of design, but when using the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ you could feel it requires a little more care. Superstructure she bit in places and in terms of optimization, it was noticeably worse than the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G with One UI.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ came to China with HyperOS 1.0, but since the manufacturer has since revealed the more advanced HyperOS 2, it could come to us with this version. And if it did come with a “one”, an update to “two” would probably be in the near future.
In addition to a number of new functions, Xiaomi promises significantly better responsiveness and fluidity from HyperOS 2. This time, I really believe that it will work out and that the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ – but of course also other models – will become even more competitive.
Battery life
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ did not have a small battery by any means. On the contrary, the capacity of 5,000 mAh represented a kind of standard for phones with a similar size (6.67″ display) in its time. Nevertheless, however in terms of endurance, it fell behind both Samsung and Realme. It managed to make up for it with fast charging, but if I’m gone all day, the 120W charging support is more or less useless to me.
However, for the Redmi Note 14 Pro+, Xiaomi went ahead and equipped it right away 6 200mAh battery. Although it loses to its predecessor in terms of charging speed – it supports a maximum of 90 W – but I am personally convinced that most users will appreciate the significantly longer battery life that we should expect. A more modern chipset could also contribute to its achievement Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3.
When will the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ appear here?
According to the latest information, the entire Redmi Note 14 series will be released outside of China just after Christmas, specifically on December 26. However, it should concern only India, and therefore we Czechs we will probably wait until the beginning of next year (probably by January, February at most). It is not yet clear how much each model will cost.
How are you looking forward to the Redmi Note 14 series?
