Smart things on your wrist
Xiaomi has introduced the Smart Band 9 Pro in China, which is available for the equivalent of under 60 euros. A real alternative to the more expensive smartwatch?
Even though smartwatches are now the dominant, smart everyday thing on the wrist, manufacturers are never tired of throwing cheaper fitness bracelets onto the market.
Like Xiaomi in China. The manufacturer is now bringing the Pro version of the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 onto the market – at a price starting at 399 yuan, which corresponds to around 50 euros. With a leather strap, the wearable costs 449 yuan, which is around 55 euros. Since the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 is already available in Germany, it can be assumed that this is also the case Smart Band 9 Pro to Europe.
The fitness tracker has a 1.74-inch AMOLED display that achieves a maximum of 60 Hz and a brightness of 1,200 nits. At first glance, the Smart Band almost looks like a “real” smartwatch. The Band 9 Pro, which is available in black, gold and pink, is also waterproof up to 5 meters of water depth.
A real highlight is the battery life of up to 21 days. Only a few smartwatches can do this and even the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 “only” lasts 14 days. In addition, the tracker, which weighs just under 25 grams, is equipped with a GPS module so that the smartphone can remain at home while jogging. And if you need something cool on the go, you can even pay contactless thanks to the integrated NFC chip.
