Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, the 1,548 HP hypercar is on sale in China

With the SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi enters the Olympus of Nurburgring racing cars. The electric sedan with over 1,500 HP (in concept version) recorded a time of 6:46.874 in the Green Hell, becoming one of the fastest cars on the planet.

Even if we are talking about a prototype prepared specifically for the fast lap, the time is absolutely respectable and puts the Xiaomi on the same level as established supercars such as the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. And Chinese customers will soon have the opportunity to garage the production model.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, the exteriors

Compared to the concept, the production version of the SU7 Ultra has a less extreme aesthetic kit, but still quite aggressive. Height 5,12 m1.97 m wide and 1.47 m high, the Ultra is recognized by a specific bumper with splitter and larger air intakes, as well as a 1.56 m wide spoiler which allows for a downforce of 285 kg. There is also an active diffuser and 21″ wheels on Pirelli P Zero tyres.

The braking system houses the carbon ceramic discs largest ever fitted to a sports car measuring 430 mm at the front and 410 mm at the rear, combined with Akebono calipers with six pistons at the front and four at the rear. According to the company, the complete stop at 100 km/h occurs in just 30.8 meters.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, the interior

The interior has been made even more personal than the basic Xiaomi, with sports seats, yellow seat belts and carbon fiber moldings. The steering wheel it is covered in Alcantara and other elements such as the dashboard and door panels have an even more aggressive look.

The technological equipment is essentially confirmed, with the small instrument panel in front of the driver and the large central display to manage every aspect of the car, including the various driving modes.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, the engines

The Xiaomi is powered by a powertrain made up of three electric motors: two units called V8 and a V6 unit (although the names are obviously not a reference to the number of cylinders). The total power available is 1,548 HP and 1,770 Nmfor a 0-100 km/h sprint of 1.98 seconds and 0-200 km/h of 5.86 seconds. The maximum speed is 350 km/h and the quarter mile is covered in just 9.23 seconds.

What gives life to the SU7 Ultra is one drums Qilin 2.0 made by CATL with a capacity of 93.7 kWh, which can guarantee at least 800 kW of power even when the charge is only 20%. And it recharges quickly, going from 10 to 80% in 11 minutes in high-speed charging stations. The range is 620 km in the Chinese CLTC cycle.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, prices

The SU7 Ultra will be sold exclusively in China at a price of 814,900 yuan, or approximately 105.000 euro (definitely more than the approximately 25-30,000 euros needed for the basic model of the SU7).

A relatively low figure in relation to the promised performance, with the first deliveries scheduled for March 2025. And the impression is that it will be a sales success, with the Chinese brand having already counted almost 4,000 orders just 10 minutes after the end of the presentation.
