While the whole world is suffering from a global computer outage, Xiaomi is introducing new products in China. The Chinese manufacturer is introducing a new folding smartphone “Fold” and its first folding clamshell smartphone. Even if the announcement concerns the Chinese market, you can already discover our hands-on with the Xiaomi Mix Flip and Mix Fold 4. In addition, the brand is offering us several important accessories: a smartwatch (Watch S4 Sport), a smart bracelet (Smart Band 9) and new earphones (Buds 5).
Watch S4 Sport: another rival for the Apple Watch, with Suunto
After Samsung’s Galaxy Ultra, a new ambitious watch wants to measure up to the Apple Watch Ultra. Xiaomi unveils the Watch S4 Sport, a sports watch with a titanium case and sapphire crystal. It has a 1.43-inch OLED screen, with a peak brightness of 2,200 nits.
Compared to a “classic” smartwatch, there is a so-called “high-precision” heart rate and blood oxygen sensor. The Watch S4 Sport also supports diving to 40 m. It has a 586 mAh battery for a battery life of up to 15 days.
For its new watch, the Chinese manufacturer is also banking on a merger with the specialist in sports measuring instruments Suunto. The Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport has a dual-frequency GNSS system and runs on Hyper OS.
Xiaomi Smart Band 9: an even more fashionable bracelet
In addition to its watch, Xiaomi has not forgotten the world of connected bracelets. A logical choice for a firm that is a reference in this field with its very popular Smart Band. The bracelet is back in a new version called Smart Band 9 very close to the previous version in terms of design. It sports a metal body and Xiaomi offers a special ceramic edition.
The similarities don’t stop there, as it also supports over 150 sports modes, like its predecessor. This version promises even more accurate health and activity monitoring, as well as complete optimization of sleep tracking. The bracelet claims 21 days of battery life. Its NFC function now supports car keys (Xiaomi SU7).
Xiaomi Buds 5: wireless headphones with ANC
Finally, the Chinese brand is renewing its headphones by presenting the Buds 5. This new model should not be confused with the Redmi Buds 5 that Xiaomi already offers in France.
More high-end, they are Hi-Res Wireless Audio certified and offer active noise reduction (ANC). The small 4.2 gram (per earpiece) earphones in stem format also benefit from IP54 certification. Lighter and smaller, they claim up to 6.5 hours of battery life on a single charge. The latter climbs to 39 hours with the charging case.
