Without spending too many words, Xpeng shares three photos of his youngest member. The Xpeng G7 is clearly a brother of the Xpeng P7+. In fact, Xpeng itself talks about an SUV, but you could almost see the G7 as a station wagon version of the P7+. However, the dark edge above the wheels gives it a bit of an SUV-like appearance and we suspect that the G7 is actually a bit higher than the P7+. We say ‘suspect’ because it is still a guess at the exact figures. As mentioned, Xpeng only shares these images and mentions AI in the car. In practice, you will logically mainly see the latter in the voice assistant and in infotainment. Given its appearance and name, it is likely that the Xpeng G7 shares its base with the P7+. This means that it exceeds 5 meters in length, unlike the P7, it has no lidar technology but only cameras and sensors, but also that it is equipped with LFP batteries instead of the NMC units we know from the P7. This probably concerns 60.7 kWh and 76.4 kWh large batteries, with the largest providing an estimated range of around 700 km according to the CLTC cycle. Count on a similar interior, this is the P7 + The cheaper batteries and The absence of lidar explains why, despite the larger size, we do not immediately expect a higher price tag for the Xpeng G7 than for the P7. The P7+ is even several thousand euros cheaper than the P7 in China. If the Xpeng G7 comes to the Netherlands, you might soon be able to get it for just under 50 grand. Enough speculation, now let’s wait and see when Xpeng announces more. With the Xpeng P7+, it took more than four months between sharing the first photos and releasing detailed information.
