XPG Invader X case test: joy from every point of view – Chapter 1

The tempered glass side panel is already a standard feature of most computer cases sold today. However, only a few models are equipped with a glass front panel. Although in this context we will talk about an emerging fashion trend, few manufacturers remain in charge for the time being. Their designers had to deal with the question of how to ensure effective ventilation in a cabinet with an airtight front. Today we look at the answer in the form of ADATA’s XPG Invader X.

XPG (“Xtreme Performance Gear”) is a gaming brand of ADATA Technology Co., Ltd. based in Taipei, Taiwan. Since 2008, computer components (RAM modules, SSDs, power supplies, coolers), computer cases, peripherals and accessories, monitors, notebooks, as well as MANA chewing gum have been offered under this brand. In the current portfolio of the manufacturer, we can find a total of 14 models of computer cases, which are interesting, among other things, because, apart from two exceptions, they are produced as standard in both black and white.

XPG Invader X

Today we will introduce a computer case XPG Invader X, which is the manufacturer’s response to the current fashion trend of richly glazed cabinets, which look like a glass showcase. Two glass walls allow a virtually unobstructed view into the interior of the cabinet, but at the cost of complicated ventilation of the interior space. After all, the manufacturer presents the Invader X on the Czech website with the subtitle “Enjoy your setup from every point of view”.

The XPG Invader X is produced in black and white, as well as in an alternative design with five fans installed, or without fans at all (it will probably not be available on the domestic market). As part of today’s review, we will present a white version of the cabinet with fans.

In the manufacturer’s offer, we can also come across the innovative Invader X BTF (Built For The Future) model, which has additional holes in the motherboard partition for the rear connectors of the Micro-ATX size board (the default model only supports similar boards of the default ATX size).

Packaging

The large number of labels stuck on the box with the XPG Invader X case indicates that it has already changed several recipients. The black print of natural cardboard shows a simple drawing of the cabinet on the front wall, and the cabinet in a disassembled state on the back.

The sides of the box are then reserved for technical parameters and identification of the model design of the box.

A pair of glued PE foam segments protect the cabinet from damage. A paper box with cabinet accessories is embedded in one of the segments.
