‘XTRA 360’, a program of free extracurricular activities for ESO students in Martorell

The Martorell City Council has opened registrations to participate in the activities of the first quarter of the program XTRA360designed by ESO students. An enriching experience that aims to promote an active and healthy lifestyle, while encouraging the social, cultural and emotional development of teenagers. The first contingent of proposals will start on November 11 and end on December 20, before the Christmas holidays.

XTRA360 is an initiative of the Martorell Municipal Board of People’s Care Services and is part of the city’s commitment to enhance the physical, social and cultural well-being of its young people, offering a variety of activities that combine the sport and culture. Registration is open and can be done through thelink.

These activities provide a space where young people can explore their passions, develop new skills, socialize with their peers and enjoy their free time. The benefits of these activities include improving physical health, increasing self-esteem, strengthening social skills and encouraging teamwork.

The activities of the programs can be framed in two branches: activities related to physical activity and sport, and artistic and cultural activities. On the other hand, they are classified into three categories according to their duration. Thus, the annual activities take place throughout the year and allow students to participate continuously. The monographic activities – which will be carried out quarterly – include specialized programs lasting a few months that offer a variety of activities throughout the year. Finally, the one-off activities that consist of specific events throughout the course that allow young people to explore new disciplines sporadically.

Strengthen self-esteem and social skills

Extracurricular activities contribute to improving the physical and emotional well-being of adolescents, helping to create healthy habits and combat sedentary lifestyles. In addition, these activities can have a huge impact on their social skills, boosting self-esteem, building self-confidence and developing skills such as teamwork and communication.

The XTRA360 program provides teenagers with a platform to learn, grow and develop their abilities in a safe and motivating environment. With a wide range of sporting and cultural options, students can enjoy an experience that promotes both personal well-being and social cohesion.

XTRA360 is part of Martorell’s full-time education strategy, which pursues the connection of all learning times and spaces for children, adolescents and young people, offering new opportunities to learn through free and accessible extracurricular activities, that promote equity and educational success.
