One of the clients said on social networks that the service was debiting money from her card for non-existent trips within five hours. Yandex reported that a similar problem affected several hundred users.
The company explained that the reason was technical problems, adding that to date, all erroneously written off funds have been returned to customers. “The service is now operating normally,” Yandex Taxi said.
The company assured that it is taking measures to prevent this from happening again.
Earlier it became known that Russians are increasingly ordering taxis through social networks and instant messengers. Illegal drivers offer trips at half the price, but safety is not guaranteed, Kommersant wrote.
General Director of ANO Digital Platforms Arseny Shcheltsin appealed to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with a request to support the digitalization of permitting procedures in the field of passenger transportation. This should bring order and help shape legislation for self-employed drivers.
