You can delete Intel’s Celestial video cards under development –

Everything depends on the success of the Battlemage.

Although all signs indicate that Intel is not very confident about Battlemage cards, this series could decide the future of the company’s GPU division. THE Moore’s Law Is Dead (MLID) reports that Intel “expects to shut down” the ongoing Celestial dGPU project if Battlemage does not perform as expected.

Based on the leaks, the mid-range BMG G31 and entry-level BMG G21 cards are expected to be released within four months. In terms of specifications, the BMG G31 is expected to come with 36 Xe cores, a 256-bit memory bus, 20Gbps GDDR6 memory, PCIe 5.0 support, and DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity. The smaller BMG G21 card retains the PCIe and DisplayPort specifications of the larger model, but will be equipped with 20 Xe cores and a 192-bit memory bus.

According to the leaked specifications, Intel is primarily targeting the market of entry-level and mid-range cards with Arc Battlemage GPUs. THE MLID his report also revealed that the BMG G31 will provide roughly the same performance as an RTX 4070, while the BMG G21 will be closer to the performance of an RX 7600 XT.

While the Battlemage cards may offer much better performance than the previous Alchemist series, Intel is still not entirely sure of their success. THE MLID market performance of Battlemage cards will determine whether Intel continues to develop Celestial dGPUs. If Battlemage doesn’t work out, Intel may turn its back on the desktop GPU market for good.
