The new film adaptation of The Crow starring Bill Skarsgård has been released today in Finland as a digital sales version.
The price of the sales version of The Crow is less than 15 euros in most vod services. A cheaper rental version will be available on Monday, December 23. The rental version costs five euros, but even that is not what we would pay for one of the worst movies of the year.
The Crow has been widely panned by critics and fans alike. In the cereal pack, the film only got one star.
Tatu Junni stated the following in his assessment:
“There is nothing sensitive or warm in Bill Skarsgård’s version, even though the character is babbling about his love for his alvar. The new Eric Draven is a scruffy little slob and a drug addict, whose fate the celestial can’t care less about. Skarsgård has clearly pushed himself physically for his role, but the film does not reward the actor for this in any way.”
Review | The new The Crow is the most pointless movie of the year
The official plot description says the following about The Crow:
“Soul mates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA twigs) are brutally murdered when demons from Shelly’s dark past surprise them. Eric gets a chance to save his loved one by sacrificing himself. He sets out on a relentless quest for revenge and at the same time crosses the delicate line between life and death.”
Brandon Lee’s 1994 film The Crow is not available on monthly paid streaming services in Finland, but you can rent and buy it on, for example, Apple TV and Viaplay.
